Norberto 'El Pulpo' Esbrez is responding to requests for classes focusing on
the fundamentals of Argentine tango. He will teach two such classes, each with
different material but both accessible for beginners or those who want to hone
their basic skills, at Cafe Duvall (2257 W 23rd Pl, Chicago, 60608). The first
will be Friday, August 15; the second on Tuesday, August 19. Each class will be
from 7:30–9:00p; the price for each class is $15; both classes for $25 per
person.
Again, Norberto 'El Pulpo' Esbrez will teach two classes on Sunday, August 17:
"Variations on Ganchos", 1:00-2:30p; and, "Top Secret new moves from Buenos
Aires", 2:45-4:15p. (Yes, these are the topics previously announced for last
Sunday, when - by popular demand - we covered other techniques.) Each class is
$15 or both for $25. The Sunday classes, also at Cafe Duvall, will be followed
by the Opposites Attract practica (4:30-7:00p) hosted by Phoebe J Grant and
Jacquline Cahill. The Opposites Attract practica is $10 ($8 for anyone taking a
pre-practica class with Pulpo or with prior reservation; multi-practica
packages also are available).
Pulpo still has some time for private lessons while in Chicago: $110 for a
couple; $90 for a solo person to study with Pulpo. These rates are quoted per
hour and there is a $10 per hour discount for each paid workshop taken July 27
or 28 (limit, 1 discount per each hour). Small group rates also are available.
