If it helps you feel the lead by knowning how to lead then that has to be a good thing. It is the same with leaders learning to follow. The only problem I can think of is the same as if the leader started becoming lazy in the lead due to the want to follow. Eg. I am already trying to break the habit of closing my eyes while dancing! I have now got it down to small opportune moments. I am all for understanding more about the dance in whatever way. Whether this ever translates into putting on a pair of heels...
