Piazzolla was, in fact, hostile to the idea of his music being used for dancing. (We are referring to the more contemporary side of Piazzolla, not the early arrangements he did for Troilo).
I have never heard his music played by a DJ in a Bs As milonga. Sometimes smaller orchestras play his music and it is more often than not a disappointing experience for all.
