the problem I see in this situation, and happens , is when there is a couple
sitting a table close to the dancing floor.

It is very unusual ( I do this with my wife), that the couple carefully choses
one corner of the dancing floor to make their entry, usually they simply jump
in , with all the unconveniences this produce, when the tanda has already
started, the first tango/milonga/valsecito has ended , and the second is already
 in motion.

To place oneself at one corner of the dancing floor is a way to see , the
opportunity to enter into "the car lane" as charles comparison remarks.
