Biography: Maestro Raúl Cabral
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maestro Raúl Cabral is a dedicated
teacher, a cultural envoy, and an exquisite dancer of improvisational
social tango, Tango Milonguero.

The essence of his art and teaching is to develop the competence of
each student through amplified awareness of musical rhythm and natural
body movement. Dedicated to a non-choreographic methodology, both
leader and follower learn to enrich the quality of their dance by
learning to move correctly but freely,  while expressing attention and
sensitivity toward their partner.  He makes the  execution of this very
complicated dance form seem easy utilizing a simple but detailed
breakdown of movement techniques, balance and floor-craft.  Known as
³The Doctor²,Cabral guides the dancer, at any level, to discover and
heighten their awareness of self and to expand their ability and
confidence to dance on the social floor.

Cabral¹s  extensive knowledge of the culture, history, tradition and
music of Tango make him a sought after resource for new and seasoned
Tango aficionados alike. He hosts regular discussion groups to
collaborate and to share experiences and perspectives with
peers. Dedicated to his art form and its dissemination, he is a
contributor of articles to numerous magazines and periodicals both in
Buenos Aires and internationally and is currently compiling his
numerous writings for a book. Cabral¹s music library is one of the most
extensive amongst his peers. With over 4,000 recordings, the collection
spans a period of over 60 years, with an emphasis on the 1940¹s, The
Golden Age of Tango.

A renown maestro de Tango for over 13 years, Raul Cabral has taught and
shared his art and pedagogy with over thirty-five international tango
professors who have made the pilgrimage to Buenos Aires to learn his
methodology. Over 800 of his students are currently dancing in milongas
worldwide.  He has given workshops and participated in festivals in
Brazil, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, France and
Argentina, and is a member of long standing of the Asociación de
Maestros y Coreógrafos de Tango Argentino, Buenos Aires,
Argentina.

CLASS W/GUEST TEACHER Marco Bagnasacco
Sunday March 18, time: 7:30-8:30 pm at Studio Gracia, fee: $15 class and

Bagnasacco's Bio: Marco Bagnasacco hails from Turin Italy, considered the
capital of Tango in Italy. He has studied tango for many years with some of
Argentina's most talented dancers, including: Fabian Salas & Carolina Del
Rivero, Julio Balmaceda & Corina De la Rosa, Cacho Dante, Cecilia Gonzales,
Carlos Gavito, Pedro Monteleone, Patrizia Pollarolo & Carlo Margiocchi,
Luciana Valle, Edoardo Capussi & Mariana Flores, Sebastian Arce & Mariana
Montes, etc.

In 2001 he started his activity as a tango teacher in Salt Lake City, UT,
opening the Dance Studio of Argentine Tango and teaching beginner,
intermediate and advanced levels, in addition to a choreography class. His
style of teaching is inventive, energetic and direct.

He also served as Tango choreographer for the major motion picture “Blind
Guy” with Jane Seymour and Stephen Tobolowsky (for release in 2006).

Wishing you a Happy President's Day and Chinese New Year.
