If Tapestry were a framework created, maintained, and controlled by a single individual, I'd be more likely to view your sentiments as cause for concern. However, I've seen more companies go out of business than Jakarta projects (outside of the sandbox/incubator) get "abandoned". Howard isn't the only developer (and I don't view his "pro-RoR" and "rethink on Java" as equalling "drop Tapestry") so regardless of whether or not he decides one day to drop Tapestry and Hivemind, I don't see that as being the "death blow" to either project. If you like a project, work on it. As long as there's some work being done on it, it's not abandoned. Simple as that.
