You can insert the object into the Spring webflow RequestScope, in which
case it will persist through the webflow for the duration of that
request/response cycle, or you can insert it into the FlowScope in which
case it will persist until the end of the entire flow.

Of course doing this is dependant on the spring-webflow integration.  I
doubt it will be checked in for another few weeks as according to his
blog the developer who's working on it is on holiday
(http://www.jroller.com/page/kdonald).  Spring Webflow is built in a way
that it's possible to integrate directly into your webapp code however.
