I have the same problem, here in Switzerland.
You must find a provider that accepts j2ee applications. I have 2 options here: (with www.swisscenter.ch) - Dedicated Virtual server where I can do what I want: install Apache+Tomcat+Tapestry+... - j2ee hosting: you provide a war file and it is deployed "I don't know where but that works".

Not that easy to find a provider though...

I would like to create an online service using tapestry, but how do I find a website hosting company which will allow me to use tapestry?

I am UK based, so If anyone has any recommendations that will get me started that would be much appreciated.

Thanks
