By design, you cannot change an existing archive. However, you can make use those the current archives and our deduplication algorithm to reduce the amount you need to upload. I suggest: 1) create a new archive (with your exclusion list). This will upload almost no data -- it will only upload any changes to files that happened in the past day (or whenever you created your earlier archives). You can read more about deduplication here: http://www.tarsnap.com/efficiency.html 2) check that your new archive contains the files you want. 3) delete your old archives. If you remove your old archives before uploading a new one, you'll need to reupload everything. Much better if you delete them afterwards. :) (more advanced users could try using the @@archive-name trick, but I think the above set of instructions is easier to understand) Cheers, - Graham Percival
