Thanks Perry. I had 3 tunes ready which were Dust In The Lane, Bluegrass Special and Boneparte's Charge. I didn't get to play the third as the judges had made their mind up after two tunes. I didn't realise until the day that the judges were in a confined room with no vision of the contestants. They simply had headphones to judge by what they heard to keep it unbiased. So I didn't need my best Hawaiin shirt after all hehee.
We could have had a BYO accomp. but I went in solo. Next year I'll take a guitarist I think. Most of the guys played solo though. When they call your number (no names of course) you simply walk on stage, sit or stand and start playing. As far as tunes are concerned, they didn't introduce the tune names either but it seemed that Salt Creek was popular. Naturally everyone was trying for variations to keep it interesting and not all were recognisable.
