Hey, Mike et al
Well I'm losing my sense of humor over here in hot old India -- too
much chaos, too much traffic, and too much to do before I go back to
the US next week. I'm trying to get stuff organized for various
things, also mostly musical, but work work is weighing in as well
general domestic crises. So I've been lurking on the site more than
anything else. But since I'm speaking up, has anyone heard of a West
Virginia fiddler called Delbert Hughes? and does anyone have any
recordings of him? The tune I particularly want to hear is "Jodie,"
which is gorgeous but totally crooked. From the way it is crooked, I
suspect Mr Hughes was a fairly idiosyncratic player. I'd love to hear
anything by him, but him playing "Jodie" would be particularly good.
And thanks for all who came up with Rocky Pallet. You guys have great
resources. best, val
