If you are talking 1/4" cables For type: you want an instrument (like a standard guitar cable as you mention) NOT a speaker cable
As for brands I like George L's; you can order them in almost any length.Monster cable makes a specific cable for acoustic instruments.Some folks say a cable is a cable; some folk say it makes all the difference. I don't think my ears are that good to tell but I like the George L's because they are thin and easy to store and wrap and by all accounts a high quality cable. BTW the Gigpro is a cool little unit.
