I'll chime in. I'm a person who thinks a cable is a cable is cable.
I've seen bandmates fork out the dough for the Monster Cable Acoustic
wires and they still break down under heavy usage. All the cables I've
seen have a warranty which I never bother with because I don't want to
have a dead cable lying around confusing me.

That said, I try to buy the second from the cheapest. I've never heard
of the George L.s mentioned above but if they're thinner they'll wrap
up easy for sure.

And 14strings is correct--buy the shortest length you can get away
with. I play sitting down so I only use a 6-footer.

The best thing to do with your cables is store them well when not in
use. I don't think usage wrecks 'em, I think transport does that.
