I agree that if inspiration is low, listening really helps, and so does the stimulants or depressants how ever one looks at it. I have the luxury of every day bein my own to fill, so, if down I put CD''s on of things I like, and listen during breakfast and after for a time. I visit you tube in the day when easy to do, and pick a tune of interest and listen to all the versions I can stand to sit for...and then make sure I get at least an hour or so on the mandolin from the things I have listened to ..for inspiration, or work on a lesson tune if I have one...ahem...Tater!!. Even if the playing is bogus at least I am keeping a routine going and am hopefully keeping what I have going for me. Yes sir Nelson, Bill Monroe is an inspiration!!!!!
It really helps to have folks to play with and that can be difficult to find...but worth the effort. I keep looking and one day I hope to find the folks that click with me. Right now its come see come saw in that area. May the force be with you... ha linda On Aug 28, 2:25 pm, [email protected] wrote: > When that happens to me, I put on some Bill Monroe and get out some Jack > Daniel's.
