I was real happy how the camp turned out. On Sunday Richie came up and said, "Well, we pulled this thing off" and nodded his head approvingly. A helluva lot of ass was kicked on Saturday night, respect earned for the style, interest rejuvenated. I reckon there's no need to explain how vigorous and valid Bill's style still is.
There was a real top-notch OT jam happening over at the SleepInn when I got back from the store, but I just didn't feel good at that point and went to bed, though I did hide outside the door and listen for a while. I believe it was Roy Andrade, Adam Tanner, Jody and Tim. Not sure, but it was hot. I wanted badly to join in, but I figured I'd better not push it. Lots of good playing going on at the bar-b-que and jam at Gabrielle's. Three or four jams at once. I must admit to being done in by consuming too much 'nanner puddin'. Richie was sure in top form on Friday night. Mercy. Jim Richter was popping that Kimble octave too, as well as Will himself playing some guitar and singing. When I left, the local boys were hollering out Jimmy Martin songs. A guy can stand just so much B natural. I'll ask the question now that we're done and hindsight begins to set in; What could we have done to make it better, more engaging, more fun, more informative, more comfortable, etc.? I have a few ideas, but am curious to hear from the rest of you.
