I normally don't do "me too" posts but I just don't think I can say it any better than David Long did. I happen to enjoy most of Ricky's music and I think he's a pretty damn fine mandolin player. But his attitude and religious ramblings are a huge turn off. Have you noticed that many of the people that have to constantly talk about their faith are generally the ones that don't live their lives by it??
Back to the recording.....these are the kind of tunes I like. He really captured a laidback, old-timey feel to the music. The only thing I find a little weird is when he sings harmony with himself. I'd much prefer just hearing him sing completely alone. So I'll keep buying his music but I won't be inviting him over for dinner.
