"I was referring to the noise we get from the star factories that relate music to the creation of a glamorous public persona rather than musical ability and integrity. Regarding the pop singing business there are some technically great singers there but once they are reduced to a product and brand name the actually singing serves... what? Its a fast food business..and a lot of it aint real food." Quote from a mate, Steve Gadd.
One thing Costello is not...fast food. Seems to me so Steve sums up a general trend that has become the standard, and I think that is a dang shame. There is not one fast food item in that concert! Great that Sir Tater got to strut his stuff, and yes EC grows one one. ljt On Nov 11, 9:12 am, Robin Gravina <[email protected]> wrote: > Well I really enjoyed that, after being pretty lukewarm about the > whole thing at the beginning: I like the way that acoustic instruments > and players can become rock n roll if used in the right way and > combining energetic textures with subtle and continuous variation.
