Yep, he plays it in E. Pretty much all the other versions I've heard are in D sometimes cross-tuned to D. I asked Baker about the tune and I think he said he got it from some Texas fiddler and that he found out after he had cut the album that the tune had another part. I think Brittany Haas put a version of the tune in D on her fiddle album? But even if Baker didn't get the tune "right" I've always liked his version of the tune.
