Have I just walked into a Python sketch time warp in the middle ot Taterbug World? This recipe must have its antecedents in Sweden as it reads a like a better dressed version of the national dish Pytti Panna. You could use spam for PP, but usually it's bacon that you can dice and sautee/fry and potato (hash anyone). You can top it with a sunnyside up egg (fried if you reading in the UK) and serve with an ever so sligthly sweet/sour (sugar and vinegar) diced beetroot salad (though some like to add a dash of class with some cream, so it turns a lurid pink) and gherkins. Season with NaCl, pepper, and any other garden herb that is pungent and aromatic (rosemary, thyme, coriander). You could also make with with lamb (and go berserk with cumin and/or curry). If you don't have time to make the Taterbug's special with all those fine garden vegetables or live in a village wherethe five a day message has not yet reached, then PP will do ya'.
