I'm sure y'all are tired of hearing about my mandola journey but...........this thing is just too much fun! I have to say, Monroe style mandolin playing has never made more sense than it does on the 'dola. Due to it's lower register it doesn't respond as quickly as a mandolin. So I find simpler arrangements that incorporate doublestops work much better than strings of eighth notes. And the fact that I have to figure this out for myself instead of referring to tab has been a huge musical "Eureka" moment for me. If your mando playing is getting a little stale, get a mandola!
