I use a PC, XP OS and Skype with broadband connection (but to Tassie it is slower than it is in say Sydney or NYC). I tried the google chat once, the audio worked and so did the video but there were bars like somebody, me or Mike was in jail ..on the screen. So...Skype is my choice. To use Skype one has to make sure the software in Skype recognises your camera and sound arrangements (configure I think the word is). BYW I sat for months not being able to get Skype vid. to work then one day...saw by messing around and checking out the tabs in Skype that my camera was not set up as the selected one for Skype. I set it up and bingo ..in business.
I have never recorded a lesson and so often wish i knew how as the memory of various tips and suggestions and demonstrations fades and I know I forget some of it every time. Still so far, have manged to hang onto enough to progress. I have been in lessons for less than two years mine are fortnightly, and my playing has gone really far in that time and confidence too. Partly cause I am so determined, am prepared to put the time in, to trust that I will eventually master a challenge and am prepared to look like a fool sometimes when playing the lesson tune. Mostly its down to the cluey tunes I get from Mike and the suggestions and such that have made the difference. All the best to you...waiting for that stellar glasses and mo vid of you playing Rawhide or Skip to My Lou, what ever is working for you. linda On Sep 24, 3:59 pm, Holstein <[email protected]> wrote: > Jeff, I have XP and a laptop with built in camera. > In the past where I didn't, I used a Logitech which I now keep as a > back-up on another PC. > Google seems to work best for me, but we have used Skype on occassion. > AIM has let me down before. > Sometimes it depends on the angle of the moon and we can end up > lookin' like the Thunderbirds! > Have fun and enjoy. > Holstein -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Taterbugmando" group.
