First - Check if you  need to configure proxy settings for Eclipse or
Maven for your network. Your sysadmin would normally know if you need
proxy settins.

Jane Ren on this list also had this issue recently [1], so it could be
a bug in the latest m2eclipse plugin, but I've not seen it mentioned
in the m2eclipse mailing list. [2]

However, I can find a bug MNGECLIPSE-2757 [3] which seems to list this problem.

The best workaround is to either install the older version (which
could be a bit tricky as you need different update sites) or to simply
generate the archetype using the Maven command line as specified in
the yellow box "Archetype creation don't work in m2eclipse 0.10.0" in
[3]. You can afterwards *import* the Maven project in Eclipse.


Alex - perhaps we should update the tutorial to include this new bug as well?
