Don't assume. Yes, I did back up. However, with the large volume of
mail I receive (and not having thought it necessary to switch over
to "leave messages on server" mode when installing the beta), it
would be just as much of a hassle to try to regain and reintegrate
those newly-received messages into a backed-up message base and
reversion to the old .exe, should I have chosen to go that route.
So, I decided to leave things as they were (except for removing
those offending folder switches) and bellyache with everyone else
[warning, smiley alert] :-)
All in all, except for those who may be conducting business via The
Bat!, which most of us aren't, I assume (whoops!, there I go), very
little of what we archive so carefully is ultimately truly
of the importance we tend to ascribe to it, so what's a few lost
(temporarily?) messages in the grand scheme of things?
