No, but I did just upgrade to WinMe on that system.

It used to run on NT without any problems.

Tried  and  tried  again.  Stripped  down  to  almost  only the server
running. No change. As I just said to Syafril, the thing that makes me
frown in TB's direction is this business of the non-cancelling dialog.
