At Saturday, April 28, 2001, 3:57:30 PM, Chuck has said the gibberish below:

MM>>> And SKIP button, which will jump to another message?
MM>>> And DELETE button, which will jump to another message and will delete
MM>>> this actual message on server?

M>> This is impossible, because the fact that there is already the sender (and
M>> maybe the subject) visible, means that the server has already started to send
M>> the whole mail. There's no way to stop it, except an ugly disconnection.

CS> Doesn't the Mail dispatcher already in effect do this??

The Mail dispatcher connects to the server once, retrieves only the headers,
then connects again, and does what it's told to.

There COULD be an option to cancel a message, if The Bat! would pause for a
second before downloading a message, and if you press "don't download this one"
during this time, it would delete it instead of downloading.

But - it would be VERY helpful if The Bat! could do the "don't download, just
delete" thing in another way: by disconnecting (in an ugly way), reconnecting,
deleting all the messages before the unwanted one (they were already
downloaded, when we cancelled the ugly message, and it was only our
disconnection that undid the deleting), deleting the unwanted message, and
proceeding with the rest of the mails as usual.

Now THIS would be VERY useful! Especially if the
delete-all-previously-downloaded function was utilized somewhere else, if for
example your connection is broken on message #37, and The Bat! realizes it has
already downloaded #1 through #36 correctly, it could delete them immediately
without downloading them for the second time...

Any opinions on THAT, folks?
