That's what I did the first time.

On my first trial I tried this with the account as listed in the status
bar of the editor, but now I did it via the menu.

I sent the message and the message appeared in the outbox of the
selected account.

My default account is pop3 and I tried it with two IMAP accounts,
unfortunately none of them is listed as second in my list of accounts.
Both accounts worked as intended, my gmail account has a local outbox
and my other imap account has a remote outbox and both acted the same
and contained the altered message.
