I am confused but I am talking about the dropdown list that opens when
I start to type a recipient address. This is where the mis-addressing
happens -- and the misunderstanding in my opinion.
I'm trying to find the source of these addresses (address book in
part) and my TB picks one to fill the To, CC, BCC addresses with.

At least for my setup, I haven't noticed this problem because have
have inadvertently used your workaround scenario.
