I tested the reverse and set up a new POP3 account to the using a temporary email on office365.com server and the OAUTH option was greyed out. When I created one with IMAP enabled, the OAUTH option appeared (in fact, it prompted me to enter my login credentials and 2FA as part of the account setup process, so it must have automatically selected OAUTH).
