For some weeks now I use a utility called pdfFactory to archive
certain texts (i.e. e-mailed newsletters by Robert Park or Michael
Shermer) through "printing" it to a PDF file.

Up till 153d the outcome from TB! showed a perfect PDF (well, as far
as this kind of utility can be produce something perfect). When I
changed to 154/4 spaces (blanks) were shown as black points. Also it
was "embedded" a font which doesn't exist, which was in effect only
the used font with a short math problem appended (I will send you
examples off-list in another mail).

Since up to 153d the programme sending the information was identified
as "The Bat" and from 154/4 on "CSS Viewer 1.01" - even if I didn't
use it, but chose the PTV, and the messages also were just plain text
- - - I conclude, the problem lies within TB! 154(beta).

Others on the list checked for this phenomenon with other PDF utils
(Adobe Acrobat). And Peter Palmreuther put images of my examples on
the Web.
