I agree. And here it comes: one of my ISP's offers telnet access,
through which I can use pine when I'm travelling. Now they have
switched their announcements (they do keep in touch with their
customers, these announcements are useful) from text/plain to html.
Not alternative, just html. Apart from the fact that that costs them
bandwidth and is otherwise plain stupid, pine cannot read this, as it
is not html/alternative. Really smart of them. When I complained, they
said that most of their customers prefer it this way (their response
is also very fast every time). Go figure. (They are a good ISP, as the
comments in brackets should show. I don't know why they suddenly think
HTML email is a good thing.)
