I measured that Becky is at least 3 times faster. I did find out that The Bat gets slower when the message base gets larger. Becky uses indexes that point to the 'as-plain-text-stored' messages. Becky simply uses an efficient and intelligent way of storing. F.e.: you don't have to compress the message base every time again like in The Bat.... I recommend you to test this yourself.
