There are a lot of MicroEd features that aren't present in most e-mail
client integrated editors. This feature that we're discussing isn't
present in Becky!, Poco, Outlook, Forte' Agent, and many others.
Auto-inserting of the quote prefix upon splitting a quoted line, comes
from MicroEd's ability to reflow quoted material. If you wish for these
nice features, that I agree, should be provided in all e-mail clients,
then use MicroEd.
It's my impression that the developers wish to provide a more standard
editor, i.e., one with an approach to editing that's more familiar to
the typical TB! user and not to necessarily mirror MicroEd's features.
It's pretty clear that they're working with standard editor code and are
not writing a new editor from the ground up.
I don't see the point of enhancing it to duplicate MicroEd's features
when MicroEd is already there.
Once this new editor's wrap on sending is sorted out, it will behave
pretty much like Forte' Agent's editor, short of being able to drag and
drop text ............ HOLD IT .... actually it *does* drag and drop
text. This, IMO, is a more than adequate goal.
