Greetings. As a pixel dabbler myself, I cannot help but voice a few comments on the new glyphs.
1. They are not intuitive. - the "message with a reply" icon is now "envelope with a green stripe", no longer an "envelope with a reply arrow". Intuitiveness gone. - addressbook entry icons, previously "card files", now are BeOS "little gray man" ripoffs. They're no longer intuitive to think of as database entries or business cards, which the previous ones were. - addressbok search icons, however, still seem to search for the old style cards! Consequence, anyone? - "delete and next", "delete and prev" - these ones never used to, and still aren't intuitive. Deletion is thought of in terms of trashcans, X marks, scissors, vanishing... not "red envelopes". Red envelopes are for high priority! So in my feel, an icon with an envelope and a red one behind it, means "move to next/prev important". 2. They are inconsistent with the old and familiar looks of v1. - all icons have been changed, but the open/closed address books have remained..? They were consistent with the old "plastic" look. With the new one, they stand off. 3. They are simply badly done - the little "column header" icons are off-centre: the [P], the little red flag, and the little envelope, are all off. - the blue and red (!?) magnifying glass icons for searching have a dark gray border which makes them appear as horribly blurred RIT guys... Please either send them back to the Czech guy who did them for repairs, or get the good ol' ones back in TB! as the default... These ones are simply worse, hands down.
