Yes, the browser should encode the ) properly, and chances are it does,
but if the file doesn't exist on the other side, then you *will* get an
error.  For example:

  http://netdork.net/index.php)

That will fail, it'll fail because index.php) doesn't exist on the server,
however index.php does.
