This is a nice baby-step forward for iso-2022-jp reading, however it
is only partially implemented, and the implementation still fails to
even match 3rd-party capabilities that have been around for years.

To wit: Absolutely no message subject lines are readable. They are
not readable in the subject line of the preview pane; and (even
worse) they are not readable in the message list. They are also not
readable in the viewer. This includes both the 'from' and 'subject'
lines; no Japanese text is anything other than screen garbage. Some
implementation. Really guys, we need to be able to read the subject
lines in the message list to have a very functional mail client.
Imagine how you would feel if all your message list subject lines
were nothing but screen garbage? Somewhat lost, is how you would
feel.

Strangely, a 3rd-party application, NJWIN, fixes ALL the text in ALL
these locations (it always has). So, they know something our
developers apparently do not know about how to get this implemented
(their fonts are not so great in those locations, but the output is
readable, and 100 percent correct). Either that, or our developers
are taking this in another direction, and this is merely some interim
step.

I don't know, but the wait is frustrating and I'm about at the end of
my patience. Can we get this done, please? If not, I'm ready to
move on. It's a nice application, wonderful functionality, but it
appeals only to the part of the world where DBCS is not the norm.
Perhaps I'm just wasting my time here. And don't even get me started
on input. ^_^

Best,

Yuki
