I personally agree, but you referred to "as it is done in most other
mail clients" and IIRC at least Outlook leaves folders inside the
trash folder intact when emptying the trash. I could be wrong here
though, it's been a while since I used Outlook. I haven't used other
email clients than TB! and Outlook for years (Outlook when I have to
by policy of my employer, TB! when I can), so I don't remember any
other ways of handling deleted folders.
