TB now uses two different indicators (three if you count assigned Colour Groups) to show the read status, one for threads (bold type) and one for messages (the envelope). Regardless of what Ken (?) thinks TB does, actually TB is right and not converting messages (more or less randomly) to read and unread status; it's just trying to be nice to the user.
