Allie, while I agree that TB has improved its IMAP function since
releasing the first incarnation of v2 it started from a low base of
usability and it's still not reliable enough to be used as a prime
mail client under IMAP.

The problems that Joseph mentioned are ones I've experienced on
newly-made accounts (as well as most of the others reported here on
various occasions) - and the general flakiness of TB's performance in
this area is disappointing.

You mention that Thunderbird is a nice free client. Actually, for
straightforward, reliable, intuitive IMAP operation, I'd pay for it.

I use it to sort out the mess that TB makes of my IMAP structure!

Isn't that an indictment?
