IMNSHO, anyone who misconfigures their TMDA (see http://tmda.net/ ) or analogous software, so that it auto-sends replies for *any* message with the "Precedence: list" or "List-Id:" headers in it, should be shot. Or at least they and their IP's should be banned forever from any and all mailing lists. ;) The same goes for "admins" who send virus notices, "nonexistent user" or such like messages. Simply ban them, and send anything from them to /dev/null. If someone like that *really* wants to be re-authorized to post to the list, they can always contact the list maintainers...
