From Charlene's messages I infer she's talking about a backup copy of
her own digital photographs. Especially from the field e-mail may be a
viable solution, although I wouldn't do it since a lot of servers will
simply delete the attachment. Many others would mangle it, all in all
the chance of losing the backup is much greater with e-mail than with
CDs lost through postal services.

If my inference is correct, my advice is a small and rather cheap
device known as Vosonic's X-Drive. It's nothing more than a slightly
oversized card reader (capable of reading all flash memory cards) with
a notebook HD in it.

It's a two-button solution - just power it on, put in your memory card
and push "Transfer", 1 GB takes a few minutes. At home (or in the
hotel) you connect the X-Drive via USB 2.0 to your computer and copy
or load the images to it.
