Hi Maria Cristina Ramos, Wednesday, October 13, 2004 you decided to contribute to our discussion by typing:
M>> I'd kill anyone who sent me a 70MB email, whether multi-part or not. I M>> have my own server for most accounts I use, with no limitation on M>> mailbox sizes, but I'd kill him anyway. > You live far away and you don't travel much, right? :scared: Photo backup/storage from abroad via mail might be useful, if other solutions fail (mobile hard discs, burners and so on). And isn't there a moblie Batmail product on Ritlab's HP? M>> Anyway, although there may be other issues involved in processing such a M>> message (RAM limitations, etc.) maybe TB should be able to process it M>> and maybe it doesn't do so because of a bug. In any case, if a bug, I M>> would never consider it a show stopper. A 70MB email! Oh dear! > My ISP would not allow such an enormous message. I have 10 mailboxes > of 15MB each, so... But 70MB, wow!! My German provider allows 1000 megs and a maximum mailsize of 20 megs in one account. It still is a freemailer, the pro-version is even five times bigger :-) This is the benefit of TB: it splits the one monster-message into pieces before sending and lets you handle the impossible, if you decide so: see account-name "properties", "files and directories" and you will find a "message splitting" option. Thereby your provider may "allow" you to receive such mail anyway, despite the limitation for the size of one mail -which may differ from the maximum inbox size from provider to provider. You need not to zip the file(s), TB does for you. In my case the format is RAR, don't know if it is the TB-standard or not since I use RAR. But please don't try it now, the version still has it's limitations. But I agree: no show-stopper! -- thanks for reading Charlene Ferrara mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] :star: ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.0.1.33 RC/10 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
