I regularly search for mail on the server. TB! does this though it will
not show a progress bar or give you any feedback that it's actually
searching. The server has to support searching server side for it to
work.

I prune my TBList folders since they tend to get too large for working
with when at work on my slower connection. Otherwise I don't move any of
my mail locally since the idea is to have access to all mail from all
locations.
