In the account properties, go to the 'Transport' setup. For POP or IMAP, go to the 'Connection' option and in the drop down menu, select 'Secure over dedicated port (TLS)' which is the same as SSL. The port number is changed to reflect the standard port used for SSL over POP/IMAP.
