Any combination gives me either 0 or a <1K byte count no matter what
combinations of options. Another thing interesting is that some .doc's
are 0 while others are less that 100 bytes. Also text documents as
attachments have the same problem.

Again, whether just viewing the counts from within the client or
saving the attachment, it's all the same and leads to a file with just
its header, I think. Here's what's left of a word doc that showed as
241 bytes as an attachment with a mail message size of 102581 bytes:

Content-type: APPLICATION/MSWORD; name="11-05-04 canvass.doc"
Content-encoding: base64
------=_NextPart_000_0000_01C4B77C.08E4B310X-IMAP-url:
imap://mail.denaliborough.com/INBOX;uid=187;part=3
Content-type: APPLICATION/MSWORD; name="11-05-04 Special.doc"
Content-encoding: base64
------=_NextPart_000_0000_01C4B77C.08E4B310--

which was at the end of the message source.
