Hm. Over here, I use MS-Word. Instead of the file name in the
attachment, it shows 367ASBC596.doc or such.

You are lucky. I've never seen this when just double-clicking on an
attachment icon. But then, I store attachments in the message body. Do
you store them in an attachment directory?

No, I cannot explain further, and I don't think you are dense. We are
just experiencing different behaviours.

Again, my question is: Do you store attachments in the message body? I
do. Maybe that's the difference.
