Good grief, Gleason, what school of cutthroat capitalism did you study in? These remarks go well beyond the realm of caveat emptor that we have been reading in another thread. Gleason, you turn capitalism into a religion (which is not far from the truth), but then you make Ritlabs into a demigod and Maxim into a Ritlabs angel to be fawned over. Gleason, for your kind information, most of us here are not just voluntary beta testers but also customers. We bought a product with promised features, and we also dedicate our time to help make that product live up to those promises and improve to a standard beyond those promises. In other words, we, the beta testers, are also performing a service - what you call "a gift pure and simple". Surely you don't think that we are doing this for the paltry discounts that Ritlabs gave us on their product! It it were about money, then I expect many if not most of us have enough savvy to get a free copy of TB (home or pro), which generally appears on the warez lists within hours of any production-level release. I have worked with several software products and the beta testers of those products. There is a mutual obligation in such a relationship. It is most assuredly not the one-way street that you not only describe but even recommend, Gleason! If we are going to talk about something "pure and simple", then let it be the pure and simple fact that many of us on this forum are not just disappointed but angry. And quite possibly the main reason why we are angry is the fact that no one from Ritlabs has genuinely acknowledged our bug reports, much less come back to us with a roadmap that would let us know - approximately - the schedule for fixing those bugs (many of them quite fundamental). But then I think I said all of this already with my one short question to Maxim. I therefore apologize to everyone for repeating myself at such length. -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and The Bat!
