Yes. Before I could try what Zygmunt had done, Roelof found the
solution. Delete (or rename) tbuser.def (it's in The Bat!/MAIL; if you
have made any use of Customiser, you'll have one). Then close The Bat!
and relaunch it.

I hope this will work for you, too, as it did for Roelof and for me.
