The QT is a "replace" function, and the parameters for that function (the actual characters to replace, ä to ae, ü to ue, etc. etc.) is passed in the comment header. Its a rather old QT (someone on TBUDL gave it to me ages ago, I think it was Dan Grunberg). I have to rewrite it to use custom (%_something style) macros one day. Some listmailers (that tag the subject) will add the list tag over & over again and can't remove multiple occurencies of "Re:" if the subject is encoded because it contains national characters - to avoid these problems, I added the replace function to my signature.
