Yes, this definitely sounds like the problem I was talking about. As mentioned in the bug report, the Mac message that did not decode correctly was "charset=ISO-8859-1". And like I said, it is not just messages from Macs that turn up this way. I suppose this explains what happens when someone sends from Linux as well. Added a note to the report.
