More about inconsistencies and the time wasted because of them.
Last night, among other things, I wrote:

I'm try to be concise.
I normally use PTV and hardly RTV. This is why I have just found out or
became aware that mailto URLs (email addresses) in the text body of a
message are 'treated' differently by PTV and RTV.
When you hover the mouse over an email address:
- In PTV you get a caret with an envelope cursor and _2_ clicks are
necessary to open a new message window.
- In RTV, a hand cursor is used and only _1_ click is necessary.
Independently of if the proper account is selected, or not, why this
difference? What's the big reason for it?
Last night I thought and believed that I was using PTV at all times, but
this was only true for the test with good old 3.02.10.
As it is with 3.62.11 and 3.6212 (and I don't know how many previous
ones) for certain messages TB _forces_ the use of RTV. This is what was
happening to me with the message I selected for my tests. The message in
question is a "Content-Type: multipart/report;" and it seems to be one
of the ones that _force_ the use of RTV even though I have PTV selected.
Why do TB latest versions _force_ the use of PTV? I have no idea but, as
far as I can see there is no need for it at all. Why?
- I can perfectly display and see that particular message using PTV
with 3.20.10 which does NOT force the "temporary change" to RTV.
The message in question is displayed in 3 parts and tabs: 'Text',
'Report.txt' and '1.msg' (which contains my original plain text message
that was rejected) and RTV is used to view the 3 of them (not with
3.02.10). Then, if I want to see headers and select 'RFc-822 headers'
from message pane context menu, a forth tab named 'Headers' is added
and... guess what! The PTV is used to for this tab and, as a
consequence, two clicks are needed for email addresses shown in the
headers. Consistent?
But wait, there is more. If I was an RTV user and had it normally
selected, when displaying this particular message the first three tabs
are of course displayed with RTV (as it should be 'cause I have selected
it) but... guess what! If I now select to view headers the fourth tab
'Headers' is _now_ displayed with RTV and only one click (with the hand
cursor) is needed on email addresses on the headers. Consistent?
I don't know if these PTV/RTV issues have anything to do with the
(possible) bug of selecting, or not, the proper account when clicking on
an email address, most probably not. But they are certainly making my
trying to trace the possible bug a bit (quite a bit) more complicated
and making me waste my time.
